British Airways Elevates Leisure with Croatia

British Airways has introduced a new holiday route. Travellers will be able to fly to the Croatian city of Split from London City Airport in 2019.

British Airways has unveiled a holiday route which will enable passengers to travel to the Croatian city of Split from London City Airport for the first time. Beginning next year, the airline will start operating three flights a week to the Dalmatian Coast sunspot in June through the peak summer months to September.

For the first time, flights will have connected the Docklands airport with Croatia. Each-way hand baggage only fares, based on a return journey, are available for purchase online from £75. The carrier also flies from Heathrow Airport to Split and will increase frequency there from five to seven flights per week in 2019.

British Airways will introduce additional services to two popular Greek Islands from London City in the summer with an extra flight on Fridays to Skiathos and a Tuesday flight to the Mykonos. There are plans to increase frequency of leisure routs from Heathrow to the destinations of Chania, Preveza, and Kalamata.

Faro flights will increase from four to eight per week, Ibiza from seven to eight, Berlin from 46 to 47 a week, Malaga from nine to ten, and Venice from fourteen to fifteen.

“We are thrilled that Split is a new destination in 2019, meaning the airline has its widest range of leisure routes ever, from the Balearics to the Greek islands, providing summer getaway options that our customers will love,” said Richard Hill, Chief Commercial Officer for London City Airport.

British Airways is a five-time national winner of the World Branding Awards under the Airline category, having claimed the title from 2014 right through to 2018.
