This Friday, August 4th, the ultimate doughnut will hit Krispy Kreme stores across the U.S., and you aren’t ready. Partnering with the Hershey company, Krispy Kreme presents The Reese’s Peanut butter doughnut to participating locations for a limited time only. The life-changing delicacy was first introduced in Australia almost a year ago, and needless to say, it was a huge success.
If your mouth isn’t watering already, let us paint you a picture of exactly what this doughnut will bring to the table. The new treat has the familiar shell of a Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut, filled with Reese’s Peanut Butter Kreme, and dipped in milk chocolate icing. But wait there’s more—the doughnut garnish consists of a generous portion of peanuts, Reese’s mini peanut butter chips, and a drizzle of chocolate and peanut butter. I think we can all agree that this combination is more-than-intriguing to doughnut, Krispy Kreme, and peanut butter lovers alike. “In partnering with The Hershey Company, we’re satisfying an intense desire that Krispy Kreme and Reese’s fans never knew they had,” says Jackie Woodward, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts’ Chief Marketing Officer.
Reese’s will be one of many companies that the doughnut chain has partnered with to create these unique, sugar-coma inducing concoctions. In the spring, Krispy Kreme came out with Ghiradelli inspired doughnuts based on two different flavored chocolate squares (Sea Salt Caramel, and Mint Chocolate). Even more recently, Jelly Belly introduced a line of Krispy Kreme inspired jelly beans, that apparently tasted pretty accurate. Hopefully, a location near you has The Reese’s Peanut butter doughnut this August 4th because Krispy Kreme is providing everyone with another reason to look forward to Friday.
