Essence Takes on Media Duties for India’s Airtel

Essence has been awarded the integrated media remit of Indian telco, Airtel, with the appointment set to take effect on 1 January 2019.

Essence has been named Airtel’s agency of record and will manage its integrated media duties. The appointment takes effect on 1 January. The scope of the work spans offline and digital strategy as well as media buying and planning for the telecommunications company.

The remit entails communications, data strategy, client analytics, media planning, and media activation. Leveraging the global firm’s specialist capabilities, the client will gain a full-service offering in support of its evolution to demonstrate its growth at the next level.

The brand’s mandate is currently managed by Team Airtel under GroupM. The 30-member team will transition to Essence and continue to service the account. The business will be led by Vice President, Client Servicing, Yoginder Jain, while backed by key practice leaders.
